Two
former Super Eagles coach, Stephen Keshi and Austin Eguavoen and former
national team captain, Austin Okocha are expected to take part in the
2nd Governor Adams Oshiomhole Football Classic.
Also expected at the event, billed for
the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Benin, Edo State, in June, are former
defender Mutiu Adepoju and Olympic football gold medalist and former
captain, Kanu Nwakwo.
Tagged “Victory Match,” the competition
is being put together by Association of Professional Footballers of
Nigeria and Nigeria Players Union.
The organising committee headed by
Majority Leader, Edo State House of Assembly, Philip Shaibu, explained
that the match is in fulfillment of the promise after the first edition.
